The Battle Of Fear and Fatigue In Business And How To Begin Living A
Wildly Ridiculous Risky Rich Life!
By: Sandi Krakowski
There are way too many people in our world who refuse to take a risk. The pursuit of a pain-free, stress-free life has taken over their ambitions. No longer is "Endure to the end!" a healthy saying, most people want to know what you did to take time off, work less and more importantly how can one succeed without risk.
My answer to all of this is summed up in one word: Phooey!
It is my conviction that when we stop taking risks, we stop going out of our comfort zone and the focus of our day becomes, "How can I make my life comfortable because I deserve it" , we have a big program on our hands.
Risk taking is not so much a personality trait as it is a faith based trait. You can take risks no matter who you are.
Entrepreneurs who want to succeed in the marketplace MUST take risks, they must take chances. There is no way around it- to sit in a settled comfortable place will destroy most companies.
So how do we discipline ourselves to get up and moving?
The first key is to really keep a To Do list handy. This is your guidebook, your reference manual. And when the two ugly "F's" that destroy a business owner rise up, you have to plow thru, move forward and TAKE a risk!
The two ugly F's in any business owner's life can be summed up in – Fear and Fatigue. Both will destroy your opportunity to build a business. Both will make you an underachiever and cause you to hold back.
Fear is something that causes us to say things like "I did that once and it didn't work out so I'm not doing that ever ever again." Fear also causes us to shrink back in the face of a critic. Maybe you've experienced this! I know I surely have.
A commitment to take risks and take chances no matter WHAT the outcome is a key to overcoming fear. But the reality is you have to first get up and moving into what you're designed to do to experience the kind of break thru you deserve.
Fear is not the only enemy however. Fatigue can also destroy a business.
The thing that we teach here at A Real Change Int'l is the integrity to not lose your life while building a business. I don't aspire to be one of those marketers who is working 24/7 in their business and neither does my staff. Commitment to a lifestyle and purpose is critical.
There's a big fat lie in the marketplace that is alive and well. What it proposes and endorses is the notion that we should put our head down and work for 5 years straight. Then…. when we lift our head, we'll have the life of our dreams.
This is a faulty way to build a business.
For one, it ignores the calling and purpose of family and it causes people to lose touch with relationships.
I'm proposing we create a real business that is filled with vacations, family time, and regular breaks. That is taking a risk, isn't it?
What if we look fear in the face and say, "I will NOT sacrifice my dreams, my families future or the things God has promised me by being your pawn any longer!" What if we jump out of the boat even though we're not even sure if we can swim!?
Here are some key strategies you're going to need to learn to get rid of fear:
1. Learn to say NO. Learn to say it and trust in yourself. If you can't say no and you always have to please others, you are fear's pawn.
2. Learn to follow through. Don't give up, have endurance. Fear causes us to quit right before the finish line! Don't give in!
3. Learn to pay attention to others around us. Fear will make you only focus on what you are doing and how you feel. This is a very wearying way to live. Pay attention, make what is important to others important to you!
Next, is the need to take a risk and be different. That will demand you not be fatigued all the time!
Fatigue can come in from performance, fear and worry. We begin to feel exhausted because in our mind we believe we have to go farther, work more and do more than everyone else. Ultimately this leads to poor physical health and endurance and again, we end up underachieving and never reaching our goals.
Do you want to live a wildly risky enduring break thru life?
Take chances… then, take risks and be different.
Keep your priorities right and be here for the long haul. To show I mean what I'm saying, this Saturday our entire family leaves for 8 days in Maui, Hawaii! And while I won't be doing email marketing and many of the other things I typically do, I'll be sending you pictures through social media of this amazing vacation our family is taking!
We've never been anywhere tropical. I spent 7 years in my past battling for my health. We spent many years after that becoming 100% debt free.
NOW… it's time to take a risk! It's time to live a rich, free life!
Work hard and playing hard! Won't you join me?
