Facebook Announces UPDATED CONTROLS For News Feeds: What a brand can do

Last week Facebook made an announcement to their users introducing a personalized news feed option. With choices to follow some friends, unfollow people and reconnect with people you used to follow, the BIGGEST change to affect marketers is the ability to PRIORITIZE who you see first, including brand pages.

The best thing a brand can do is create great content that people love. When people love your content, they'll come back to your page regularly, whether you are in their feed or not. More than 50% of our viewers see our content on my page ORGANICALLY, that serves 1.1 million people. This is because the content we create, our audience wants, including posts, graphics, videos and articles. 

The next thing you'll want to do is encourage your followers to make your page one they want to see first! How do you do that? Just send out a personal note, with your regular email newsletter (or write an article) and encourage your faithful followers to add you to their newsfeed preferences.
