Make Money With Social Media

The Quick, Easy & Fun Way!

By: Sandi Krakowski

Social media is a way to connect with people. People are your prospects, future clients and customers. When I began using social media in 2009 it never dawned on me that I should 'behave' a certain way. It simply meant it was a great way to communicate quickly with millions of people all over the world 24/7.

One of the things I absolutely LOVE about social media is that it never ever sleeps! When my son was hospitalized in 2010 during the month of December it was so comforting and encouraging to have friends and clients to connect with from all over the world at any time of the day or night. I love that! And I love people!

Do you use social media?

How's it going?

Are you bringing in more people to your list, growing your client base and increasing your profits?

Here are a few tips that can help.

Regular Habits For Bigger Profits and More Fun Through Social Media

1. Social Media Is Like Texting:

Think about all the times you've texted someone. It might be a friend, family member or even business colleague. Now, think about what you're posting on social media each day. Are these the same messages you'd send to a friend? This is a good gauge to tell if you are on track. Some people send the same updates over and over and over again about their super fantabulous weight loss product. If someone texted me like that I'd delete them from my contacts and block them .

When you are posting things on social media ask yourself if you would 'text' this to a friend.

2. Make Communication A Two Way Conversation:

Have you seen professionals or business trainers who are following no one on Twitter? This is someone who has a message to be heard but doesn't want to have a relationship with anyone. Social Media is an environment where two-way conversations thrive. Make it your goal to not only educate, encourage and build up your followers, but communicate with them as well!

Social Media is not the place for drama. People can get this in their own home for free, why would they want to follow someone with a lot of drama. Making posts that say things like, "I hate getting up in the morning. Oh my gosh I can't stand this. Oh I feel like a slobby lump of lard" are not going to be followed with excitement and enthusiasm.

Remember that Social Media is designed to be a two way conversation. If a bad day of drama and emotions tempts you to write about it on Facebook or Twitter, ask yourself this valuable question, "Would I post this when I knew the best client I've ever had in my business history was reading?" We never know who is reading, so don't give yourself any allowance for personal venting.

3. Be Regular and Consistent With Content:

A big reason many people who 'test' out Social Media don't see the results they want to have is simply because they are inconsistent. This is a huge mistake and one we must be on guard against.

If Social Media interactions with your prospects and customers is focused on bringing value to them, than being inconsistent quickly devalues your intentions.

Be honorable, consistent, post regularly and listen to your friends and customers. If you really care about your business and your customers, you'll enjoy doing this and learn far more than you would have imagined! Forget business school- your customers will gladly tell you what they want.

4. Share Your LIFE!

This is one I've heard such conflicting input on it really surprises me in the age of New Media we live in. If you don't share your life people might not take you seriously. They don't connect with you simply because of what you do in business- they want to have a relationship with you. People connect with other people, not products. They also are loyal to people, not products.

When sharing your life, be real. Customers love REAL…. they despise perfect, so don't even go there.

Share, inspire and encourage with your own life. Your clients will love you for it!

5. Model What You Want Your Customers To Be

Every time you feel like journalling about your personal troubles and how hard it is to get motivated, remember what it is you are online for. I've seen "Life Coaches" who seem to have so much drama they appear to NEED a Coach more than be the kind I'd hire.

Remember, you are a business owner. When you choose to do a personal rant of how you liked or didn't like the way that person behaved online you are sharing a personal reflection of the power of lack that exists within you. And….. you are creating thousands of customers just like you that will find their way into your business.

Like does breed like. If you want to have amazing customers, be amazing to be around.

If you want customers filled with drama, have a lot of drama on your FB wall. * wink *

Be warm and inviting. Take pictures! Show how you are growing if you are a coach so that your students will have increased confidence in your ability. Talk about your students and show how important they are to you…. if you want more.

Everything matters in Social Media. We don't get a day off, a time out or excuses.  Social Media is about relationships so model the desires you want in return.

You can use Social Media to attract more clients, build your business or practice, close more sales and eliminate ringing phones!

But above all things, have fun. Social Media can become a very fun activity to do every single day! I LOVE hearing from my customers all day long! They encourage, inspire and make it all so worth it for me!
